Join us for Happy Hour to help raise funds for the Bill Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion and Japanese Garden Expansion at the Denver Botanical Gardens. The new bonsai pavilion will celebrate the life of Dr. William Hosokawa (1915 – 2007), a prolific author, accomplished journalist, civil rights advocate and eloquent spokesperson for the Asian-American community. He received many honors through the years, including his appointment as honorary Consul General of Japan in Colorado for 25 years, the 2007 Civil Rights Award from the Anti-Defamation League and an honorary doctorate from the University of Denver. Bill Hosokawa was instrumental in helping Longmont Sister Cities Association develop its first sister city relationship with Chino, Japan over 20 years ago.
Tickets for this fun evening social are $17.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. Tickets are available online at www.longmontsistercities.com. Other donations will be graciously appreciated.
